Renowned for its flora and wildlife, Noosa National Park boasts rainforests and coastal bush, stunning beaches, and an incredibly rugged coastline brimming with banksia and pandanus clinging to the rock edges.
Located within easy distance of Noosa Main Beach and Hastings Street, the park spans 2883 verdant hectares, incorporating Noosa headland and areas around Lake Weyba, Peregian and Coolum
There are so many incredible lookouts where you can take some amazing photos, enjoy spectacular views, watch for marine life in the ocean below and experience the coastal beauty including Boiling Pot and Dolphin Point lookouts, Hells Gates, Granite Bay and the Fairy Pools.
Head up to Laguna Lookout and take in the amazing views over the Noosa River mouth, the coastline and nearby waterfalls. If you are lucky you might spot some of the incredible wildlife that call this park home including glossy black cockatoos, echidnas, ground parrots, red goshawks and koalas.
Take a hike
If you feel like exploring the park there are more than 15 kilometres of walking tracks. The tracks have been graded and range from easy to walk through to more difficult. Which track you take might depend on how much time you have and your level of fitness.
If you are short on time you can take a walk along the boardwalk from the end of Noosa Main Beach. This will take you past Little Cove, a favourite beach for the locals and on towards the park’s main entrance.
For the more adventurous try the Coastal Walk (10.8km return – takes 4 hours). This walk not only showcases the beauty of the Noosa National Park but will get your heart beating. The first part of the walk finishes at Boiling Point and is sealed so is okay if you have young children or prams, or would like to take someone in an assisted wheelchair. After this the track becomes rocky and uneven but if you can make it to the end at Hell’s Gate you will be visually rewarded with a stunning view of the coast.
Other walks you might like to try include:
• Palm Grove Walk (1.1km return – takes 15-20 mins)
• Hakea Walk (2.4km return – takes 1 hour)
• Ocean Beach Walk (1km return – takes 30 mins)
• Emu Mountain Summit Walk (1.1km return – takes 45 mins to 1 hour)
• Noosa Hill Walk (2.8km return – takes 1-1.5 hours)
• Alexandria Bay Walk (4.2km return – takes 1 hour)
• Tanglewood Walk (8km return – takes 2-3 hours).
Take the time and explore the incredible Noosa National Park. You won’t be disappointed.
